Tale
Series adaptation of James Patterson novels about the complicated and brilliant detective, Alex Cross
Aldis Hodge discusses playing the lead and producing the crime-drama "Cross," what he should be known for as an actor and a producer, and his commitment to promoting diverse narratives through his production work.. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him onscreen in 1997's Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 movie sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the titular character in 2012's Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap the preplanned sequel Double Cross..
Hopefully when you've seen the 1st episode you'll see that the guy being questioned at the beginning, likely has the same views as some people on here
I haven't watched the whole series yet so can only comment on the first 3 episodes but I'm definitely drawn in & find Aldis Hodge a great Alex Cross. It's engaging, gritty with the story becoming clearer in the first few episodes, with the mystery building.Unfortunately some of the reviews here are quite clearly negative because of their own opinions on race.
Please ignore this & just watch an episode or 2 & make your minds up
Don't listen to the obvious bigots, these issues ARE prevalent & sadly common in these times so why not shine a light on it. Sorry if some people are uncomfortable with that.2 things did bother me;First I do agree with some comments regarding the lighting, it is very dark & I was straining my eyes a bit but wasn't terrible.Secondly, this may seem petty but the Captain was very stereotypical, old fashioned views, always annoyed at Cross despite his excellent police record, rude etc.
Just seemed a bit cliché
And I also was really distracted by her hair lol, no way a female that high ranking wears her hair down like that, it looked odd, especially when she had her police hat on, it didn't seem to sit properly! Minor issue but I did find that a bit distracting!!I have read most of James Patterson's books and this definitely deviates from those but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Check out our November calendar for more!
Heads up if you don't want any spoilers skip the last bit of episode 1 as it has a "this season on Cross..." preview which i didn't watch as I don't want spoilers & felt this wasn't needed.Give it a go, watch a couple of episodes & think you'll want to watch the whole series.. A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
